Duncan, SC

Larry Edward Tallant, a beacon of selflessness, faith, and love, passed away at his home in Duncan, SC, on November 8, 2024, surrounded by his adoring family. Born on May 27, 1946, in Kansas City, MO, Larry's journey through life was marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his unwavering faith.

Larry's early years in Waco, Texas, laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and strong values. After completing his BS in Business Administration from North Texas State University, he embarked on a career that would see him make significant contributions to the field of international sales and marketing. His professional journey included pivotal roles at Adidas, where he worked in various locations including California, New Jersey, and South Carolina, and at Grace Management, where he developed their international sales and marketing department. He made great business contacts around the word that he also considered friends.

Beyond his professional achievements, Larry's life was rich with personal passions and community involvement. He was a devout member of Church at the Mill and a longtime participant in the Men's Bible Study Fellowship, where he found strength and camaraderie. Larry's faith was a cornerstone of his existence, guiding him through life's challenges and joys with unwavering grace.

An avid fisherman, Larry found enjoyment in spending time in God’s creation while sharing amazing times with dear friends on their yearly fishing trips. His love for fishing was matched only by his love for travel, and he combined these passions as an international traveler, exploring the world's waters and sharing his adventures with those he loved. His enthusiasm for life extended to his participation in Rock Steady Boxing for Parkinson's, where he demonstrated his characteristic determination and positive spirit.

Larry's legacy is carried on by his beloved spouse, Ruth Tallant, and their daughters, Tiffany Hangen (Ben) and Tracy Cubbison (Jesse). He was a cherished grandfather to Josiah, Jeremiah, and Makayla Hangen, as well as Cole and Seth Cubbinson, who will miss his guidance and gentle presence. Predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Billie Tallant, Larry's memory will also be honored by his sister-in-law, Casey Wilson, and his dear friends, Mark Knipfer, MD, John Heussner, and his dedicated cancer doctors, Dr. Neskey, Dr. Hornig, and Dr. Kilburn, who compassionately extended his time with his loved ones.

In his final days, Larry was lovingly cared for by Theresa Pearson, and hospice nurse Kristi Madala, whose support allowed him to spend his last moments in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the family he so deeply loved.

Larry's life was a testament to the power of a faith-filled heart and the impact of a selfless, loving spirit. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him, and his influence will be felt for generations to come. As we bid farewell to Larry Edward Tallant, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that enriched the lives of many. His was a journey well-traveled, marked by kindness, generosity, and an enduring faith that will continue to light the way for those he leaves behind.
