Kenneth Michael Watkins

August 3, 1987 — July 3, 2022

Kenneth Michael Watkins was born in Charleston, S.C on August 3,1987 to Kenneth William Watkins and Sherry Lee (Meadows) Watkins and departed this life on July 3, 2022 in Greenville, S.C.

Michael struggled with addiction most of his adult life, since the passing of his father, but he never wanted to be defined only by his addiction and mistakes. Even though his addiction is what ultimately ended his life, an addict is not all that he was. Michael was a son, brother, husband, uncle, cousin, nephew, and most importantly he was a father. He was loved by so many. He enjoyed fishing, playing with his dog, Gus, writing poetry, and spending time with his daughters. Michael had a big heart and was always willing to help someone in need. He protected those that he loved and, when he loved, he loved deeply.

Michael is survived by his grandmother, Betty May (Bush) Watkins; two sisters, Leslie McMinn and Christina Watkins; two nieces, Michelle Marshall and Kensley Mask; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and, more importantly, his two beloved daughters, Nevaeh Watkins, age 15, and Kendall Watkins, age 8.

He is preceded in death by a grandmother, Gloria Elizabeth (Stanfield) Meadows Warr; two grandfathers, Donald Lee Meadows and William Kenneth Watkins; father, Kenneth William Watkins; and an aunt, Brenda Darlene Meadows. Michael was joined in heaven by his loving mother, Sherry Lee (Meadows) Watkins, on July 8, 2022 to watch over their loved ones together for the rest of our days.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.
