Kenneth Carl Tilson Jr

Kenneth Carl Tilson Jr.,65, of Travelers Rest, SC, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on March 17th, 2023, after an extended illness.

Kenneth was born on May 26th, 1957, in Greenville, South Carolina, to the late Carl and the late Jacqueline Tilson. He attended Wren High School, where he played varsity football. After high school, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for 14 years. It was during his time in the Army that he met the love of his life, Dorie, who was also serving.

Kenneth was a devoted husband and father who always put his family first. He and Dorie were married for 42 years and had two daughters, Kendra Lance and Tanya Tilson (Bret Dalton). Kenneth was also a proud grandfather to Kayla Tilson (Michael Najera), Nathan Lance, and Savannah Dalton, and a great-grandfather to Brooklyn and Mason Najera. He is also survived by his sisters Lynn Brooks and Joy Tilson and his brother Stephen Tilson.

Kenneth was a warrior in every aspect of his life. He faced his illness with courage and determination. Despite his health challenges, Kenneth was always happiest when he was spending time with "them babies", who brought him so much joy.

A memorial service will be held at the Cremation Society of SC - Westville Funeral home on March 21st, 2023, at 3:30 pm. The family will receive friends at 3:30 pm prior to the service. Burial will be private.
