Kenneth Gwinn Barnett

Kenneth Gwinn Barnett, age 84, an only child born in Greenville, SC, died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born October 17, 1932, he was the son of the late Robert P. Barnett and Dora B. (Manley) Barnett.
Ken was a retired engineer from Mack Molding of Inman, SC. He had won many awards for his plastic mold designs. He was an avid outdoors man and had won several awards and trophies for motorcycle flat track racing and go-cart dirt track racing. He shared his love of racing and outdoors with his family, always teaching his children from experience. He enjoyed spending time at his lake property especially fishing for crappy or repairing various items for his neighbors, relatives and friends. He was a Jack of all trades and a master of many, always there for whoever had a problem or a need.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sarah “Juanita” Barnett; along with six children; Gwen and Wayne Abee of Easley, Brenda and Dennis Miller of Simpsonville, Wanda and Steve Culpepper of Simpsonville, Karen Gray of Greenville, Donna and Joe Tinsley of Greenville, and David Barnett of Taylors; 13 grandchildren, Heather Abee, Jonathan Abee, Christopher Abee, Will Freeman, Kelly Nix, Tara Maye, Kristie GraySmith, Brittany Marmol, Adrienne Tinsley, Joseph Tinsley, Kendall Chapel, Joshua Barnett and Elizabeth Devaine; 18 great-grandchildren; Brandi Abee, Gabriel Adams, Brandon Adams, Morgan Abee, Jerrith Abee, Alessa Abee, Cody Nix, Hannah Nix, Logan Maye, Corbin Maye, Sydni Smith, Darcy Smith, Kaileayh Tinsley, Taylor Tinsley, Kressie Jo Tinsley, Dallas Chapel, Dathan Barnett and Piper Devaine and many other loving nieces, nephews and relatives.
Services for Kenneth Barnett will be held at his home church, Choice Hills Baptist Church, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 with visitation from 12:00 noon – 1:45pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm with Pastor Jeffrey Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Garden of Hope Mausoleum in Greenville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Choice Hills Baptist Church 5910 Old Buncombe Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29609.
