Kenneth Michael Adams, known affectionately as Mike to his friends and family, passed away on May 27, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on August 18, 1957, in Lancaster, South Carolina, Mike was a cherished member of his church and community in Simpsonville, South Carolina, where he spent his final days surrounded by the love of his family.
Mike was the beloved husband of Cheryll J. Hawkins Adams, and together they built a beautiful life filled with joy and laughter. He was a devoted father to his sons, Edward Louis Adams (Angie), Michael Ray Adams (Crystal), and Jacob Dean Tutterow. His legacy continued through his grandchildren, Kalob, Evan, Bennie, Jazmyn, and Hannah Adams, and great-granddaughters Nevaeh and Kendra Adams, all of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.
Predeceased by his parents, Judson D. Adams and Beulah L. Adams, and his brother Leo Adams, Mike is survived by his loving sisters, Patricia Adams Elliott (Roger), Judy Adams Walters (Mike), and Linda Beal Knight (Keith). His family remembers him as a pillar of strength and a source of unwavering support.
Mike was a proud alumnus of Beaufort High School, where he formed friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate his own Home Maintenance and Repair Business. Mike's dedication to his craft and his customers was evident in the care and precision he put into every project. In addition to running his own business, he spent many years in grocery store management, where his leadership and work ethic were greatly valued by his colleagues at Harris Teeter and Publix.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mike was known for his passion for classic cars. His involvement in the Car Club was not just a hobby but a reflection of his love for community and camaraderie. Mike found joy in fishing with his sons and grandchildren, creating memories that they will cherish forever. His interest in astronomy and weather allowed him to share with others the wonders of the sky and the intricacies of nature.
Mike's character was defined by his loving nature, his generosity, and his selflessness. He had an extraordinary ability to make others feel valued, and his kindness touched the lives of many. Mike was a man who put his family and friends before himself, and his presence was a comforting and stabilizing force.
As we remember Mike, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love. He was a man who understood the importance of family, friendship, and giving back to his community. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his influence will continue to be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mike's life will be honored in a private ceremony attended by his family and closest friends. His journey on earth may have ended, but the legacy of Kenneth Michael Adams will live on through the lives he touched and the love he gave.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 9, 2024, 4pm at the Mauldin Church of God, 411 E. Butler Road, Mauldin, SC 29662
