Kelly Mechelle Adams, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024, at the age of 56, in her Piedmont, SC home surrounded by love . Born on May 5, 1968, in Easley, SC, Kelly lived a life characterized by selflessness, devotion, and a deep-seated love for God, her family and the simple joys in life.

Kelly was preceded in death by her father, William Murry King, her mother, Gwendol Gillespie, her sister, Tracy Shiwana King Keller, her niece, Madison Shiwana Keller, and is survived by a family that adored her. Her loving husband, John Preston Adams; her sons, Robert Kyle Murphy, Preston Blake Adams, Andrew Lane Adams; her daughter, Lauren Ashlen Adams; brother-in-law, Bob Morton; sister, Page Morton; father-in-law, Leonard Lowery; mother-in-law, Jo Lowery; daughter-in-law, Lindsey Anderson Adams; niece, Brittany Amber Keller-Barber; grandchildren, Raven Aniyah Adams and Oliver James Adams; nephews, Lehr Morton and Anton Morton; great-nephews, Spencer Alan Barber and William David Crumbaker; and niece-in-law, Chelsea Nicole Barber, will forever cherish her memory.

Kelly graduated with an Associate's Degree in Accounting and dedicated herself to a fulfilling career at the South Carolina Department of Revenue as a Taxpayers Assistance Officer . Her commitment to her profession was recognized in 2024 when she was awarded “The Dear Heart Award”, created in the memory of a TAO in Columbia, SC for her exemplary customer service and diligent work and the respect she earned from her colleagues and customers.

Beyond her professional achievements, Kelly's heart found joy in her many interests. Crocheting characters as gifts for her grandchildren and great nephews. She had a lifelong love for Winnie the Pooh. Her love for hummingbirds was well known, as she found great peace in their delicate beauty. Kelly's faith in God was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through each day with grace and purpose.

A true matriarch, Kelly's happiest moments were spent with her grandchildren and great-nephews, whom she adored. Her laughter was a common sound during family gatherings, and her presence brought comfort and warmth to any room. Kelly also found solace in the rhythm of the ocean waves during her cherished times at the beach walking and collecting shells and shark’s teeth at the shore. .

An avid listener of True Crime Podcasts, Kelly enjoyed the intrigue and mystery that each story brought. In quieter moments, she could be found immersed in a book, working on puzzles and working on paint by number.

Kelly's legacy is one of unwavering love and generosity. She was the embodiment of a faith-filled life, always putting others before herself and nurturing the bonds of family with every action. Her spirit of giving and her kind heart left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

As we bid farewell to Kelly, we are reminded of the light she brought into the world. Her memory will be carried in the hearts of her loved ones, and the values she lived by will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have felt her touch.

Her story is not one of sorrow, but a beautiful life woven with threads of love, kindness, and faith—a tapestry that will provide comfort and guidance to her family for generations to come.
