Kay Stewart Davis, 81, passed away on January 12, 2022 after a short battle with COVID-19. Kay was born to J. Roy and Ellen Hunnicutt Stewart on November 1, 1940 in Greenville, SC. A member of Overbrook Church for over 50 years, she was active in Sunday School, GA’s and other ministry projects. She and her mother Ellen also delivered Meals on Wheels.
Kay attended Parker High School where she received her “PHD” in 1958. After graduation, she went on to work as a legal secretary and then became a homemaker to raise her three children and support the family business, Wade Hampton Shell Service Station. Later, she was a dedicated employee of Exigent, Greenville Hospital System and now Prisma Health for over 30 years.
Kay was passionate about sharing the love of God with others and often shared her strong belief in the presence of guardian angels. Now that Kay has passed into the arms of our Lord, she would want us to remember that while this is the end of her physical life on earth, it is the beginning of a beautiful journey for her in heaven. She would want her family and friends to take comfort from Psalm 91:11: “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”
Kay is survived by her children Ric Davis (Dodie), Tim Davis (Wendy) and Lisa Talbot (Bruce). Kay loved her family. Her greatest love and passion was her grandchildren - Will Davis (Haley) ; Adyson and Brooks Davis; Connor (Deborah), Rian and Patric Talbot; great grandchildren Harper and Ellis Davis; her sister Carole Moran (Paul), niece Candy Oliver (Charles) and nephews Camp and Cai.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Prisma Greenville for their compassionate care during Kay’s last days. Due to the current rapid spread of COVID-19, a memorial service is planned for a later date. Memorials may be made to Overbrook Baptist Church, 1705 E. North St, Greenville, SC 29607.
