Kathy L. Harris, a spirited and creative woman, took her final bow on November 17, 2023, leaving the stage of life richer for her performance. Born on February 22, 1957, in Greenville, SC, Kathy was a shining star whose light touched all who knew her. Her departure from this world, also in her beloved Greenville, is not a goodbye, but a 'see you later' to those she left behind.
Kathy was the cherished daughter of J.B. Harris and the late Catherine Harris. She grew up surrounded by her brothers, Kenneth, Derrick, Barry, and Leon. Despite the heartache of losing Derrick, Barry, and Leon, Kathy remained a beacon of strength and positivity, her spirit undimmed by adversity. Her son, Justin Lewis, was the apple of her eye, and she was incredibly proud of the man he grew into.
She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. Kathy loved the outdoors and found peace and happiness in her garden, nurturing plants with the same love and care she extended to her family and friends. Her garden was a testament to her creativity, a living canvas that changed with the seasons, reflecting her innate ability to create beauty wherever she went.
Kathy's creative spirit extended beyond her garden. She had a knack for seeing the potential in everything and everyone. She could transform the mundane into the extraordinary, a trait that endeared her to all. Her spirited nature was contagious, spreading laughter and joy wherever she went.
Kathy’s love for her community was evident in her active involvement in various associations. She believed in giving back, in making a difference, and her infectious enthusiasm inspired others to do the same. She was a catalyst for change, a motivator who encouraged others to step out of their comfort zones and explore their potential.
Kathy L. Harris was more than just a name; she was a force of nature, a whirlwind of creativity and spirit. She was a woman who lived her life with gusto, embracing every moment with passion and enthusiasm. She was a loving mother, a caring sister, a cherished daughter, and a loyal friend.
In Kathy's honor, let's celebrate her life by living ours with the same creativity and spirit she embodied. Let's remember her not with tears, but with smiles and laughter, just as she would have wanted. Kathy's story may have ended, but her spirit lives on, in the garden she loved, in the memories she created, and in the hearts of those she touched.
Kathy L. Harris, you were a gift to us all. Your legacy will continue to inspire, motivate, and bring joy. And while we may mourn your physical absence, we celebrate the vibrant, creative, and spirited life you led. Thank you, Kathy, for showing us how to live life to the fullest. You will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
