Karen Taylor Lockamy went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 25, 2022. She was born in Charleston, WV on October 16, 1945 to Lawson and Reva Taylor. Karen was predeceased by her parents and her spouse, James H. Lockamy, Jr. She is survived by her children, Larry Wickline, Jeff Wickline, Kathy Wickline, Andy Lockamy, and Joshua Wickline; grandchildren, Jordan Wickline-Pizutti, Maxwell Lockamy, and Cassidy Wickline along with her three great-grandchildren. Karen is also survived by her twin sister, Sharon Taylor Smith and sister, Judith Kay Weaver.
Karen graduated from Francis Marion University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education in 1995. Her love of teaching was driven by her love of children and she found her greatest professional joy in teaching fifth grade in Florence, SC for many years before retiring and relocating to Greenville, SC.
Karen was an avid reader, often finding herself lost in a book. However, those her knew her best would agree her favorite activities always included her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
As a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Fountain Inn, SC, one would not be surprised to find her with her church family anytime the doors were open. Her family finds peace in knowing that she is in the Ultimate Paradise “dancing with her Jesus.”
In lieu of flowers, the family’s request is to make donations to the American Alzheimer’s Association, a charity close to our hearts, in memory of Karen’s late husband, James Lockamy, Jr.
