Julia Louise Sickler, aged 32, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 in Greenville, SC. She is survived by her parents, Dean and Andrea Sickler; sister, Stephanie, nephew Caleb and brother-in-law Joseph Sweetland; Aunt Hilary and Uncle Robert Latimer and cousins Drew and Chris; Aunt Wendy and cousins Jenifer and Ashley Roberts, Roy Carter, Ben Carter, Hiram Martin; Aunt Sharron and Uncle John Prosser and cousins Brian Prosser, Erin Tasto, Shannon Mihelich; cousin Kim Gear; and countless additional loving family and dear friends.
Julia was born in Atlanta, GA on June 16, 1989 and moved with her family to Oakville, Ontario in 1991 and then to Chatham, NJ in 1995, which she called home for most of her life. She moved to Asheville, NC in 2018. Julia held a BS in Entertainment and Arts Management from Drexel University and a MS in Sustainability Science from Montclair University, areas of study which reflected her interests and passions. She was a registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Wellness Instructor.
Throughout her life, Julia worked in wellness advocacy, event management, marketing and social media. She was actively involved in community engagement and outreach programs and volunteered for many concerts and music festivals. Julia was a gifted singer, entrepreneur and artist, and would light up the room with her presence and song. To know her was to have a lifelong friend.
Julia’s family invites those whom she leaves behind to celebrate her life at Memorial Service which will be held at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Summit, New Jersey at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021. The service will be followed by a one hour reception during which time the family will receive friends for visitation.
