Judith J "Judi" Hayes, passed on Sunday, January 14,2018 at her home. Born in Catskill, NY on January 10, 1947. Spent most of childhood in Burlington, Vt. before making Greenville, SC her permanent home.
Predeceased by a son Timothy E. Hayes of Greenville, SC and mother Pearl Dumas of Burlington, Vt.
She leaves behind her partner of 20 years, Bill Galarneau; her father Fred Covey, Geneva, Fl.; her daughter Tracy Austin Trantor (Greg) Shrewsberry, Massachusetts; her son Thomas W. Hayes (Mary) Greer, SC; her grandson Joshua Hayes, Greer, SC; her brother Bob Covey (Dawn) of S. Bethelem, NY; her sister Carol Vilar (Rick) of Voorheesville, NY and many nieces and nephews.
Judi attended Champlain Business College, Burlington, Vt and worked for many years in the restaurant business and supermarket management industry, in the Greenville area, before obtaining her Real Estate license and working for C. Dan Joyner Co. Realtors, Greenville, SC. and retiring in 2012.
Judi will be remembered as being a kind and loving person with many friends.
She is a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 2252 Woodruff, Rd. Simpsonville, SC 29681 where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 10:00 AM followed by a private graveside service at Graceland East Memorial Park. The celebrant for these services will be Fr. David A. Runnion.
In lieu of flower donations may be made to the Greenville Humane Society, The Cancer Society of Greenville or your favorite charity of choice.
