Judith Ann Fultz, long-time resident of Patewood Health and Rehab, died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday evening, May 10, after a period of declining health. She was 73 years old.
Judy was born in Youngstown, OH on October 22, 1942 to Joan Walker Rawe and Hans W. Rawe. She attended Ohio State University before marriage and then settled in to raising her three children. She was a wonderful artist and poet and lover of all things in nature. She had a green thumb, an interest in rocks, insects, birds and people, people of all walks of life and she saw all of them as perfect, just as they are.
At the age of forty-one Judy suffered a debilitating stroke as a result of a brain aneurysm but that did not stop her from enjoying life to the fullest of her ability. She chose to focus of the positive side of every situation and was a “cup half-full” kind of person. She was known for her attitude that “it’s what’s on the inside that counts,” and “this body is just transportation for the soul.” And she was a great soul. She had an amazing sense of humor and met all her frailties with wit and humor, often surprising those around her with her funny take on life. She said that even in the worst circumstances, one could find humor and that was how she coped with the many things that happened to her in her life. Though she was unable to participate in many of the activities she enjoyed prior to her stroke, she delighted in the little things in life that often go unnoticed to the rest of us. She was a thoughtful listener and always had an enlightening perspective to share. She adored her family and friends and never passed up an opportunity to let them know it.
She was predeceased by her parents, her daughter, Amy Eisenman, and her son, Robert Eisenman. She is survived by her son, Dan (Anne) Eisenman, her sister, Gretchen (Ted) West, and a number of other loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the many dedicated caregivers at Patewood Health and Rehab for their loving care and friendship.
The family will gather privately to celebrate her life and share memories of this sweet lady. The families will be at their respective residences. Condolences may be expressed on line through Westville Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Greenville Humane Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
