Joy Glenda Vick, 80, of Taylors, SC received complete healing as she crossed over to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 10, 2021. Joy had recently suffered multiple injuries from a motor vehicle accident.
Born in Union County, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Clara Vick. She proudly served in the (WAC) U.S. Women’s Army from 1960-1966. A George Mason University graduate and alumni, she played on their first Women’s Basketball Team. She was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Taylors. Joy’s heart for Missions was evident from volunteering with the Good New Club at BCES to sharing the Gospel on the streets of NYC and participated in both for many years.
Surviving are two sisters, Carol Vick Keisler (William) of Union and Mary Vick Jackson of Taylors, nephews, Tyler Jackson (Savannah) of Greer; Benji Keisler (Kelley) of Spartanburg, nieces, April Keisler and Jennifer Brown(Benji) of Union, along with many great nieces and nephews whom she adored.
In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Vick Walker (Jesse) and Delores Vick Allison (Terry); brother-in-law, Tommy Jackson, and nephew Kahil Jackson.
A Memorial Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, 2pm at Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Taylors, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brushy Creek Baptist Church, 4999 Old Spartanburg Rd. Taylors, SC 29687.
