Josephine Lipari

Josephine Lipari, lovingly known as “Josie” sadly passed away on September 16 th, 2024, in South Carolina. She was born in Newark, New Jersey, and grew up in Greenwich Village, NYC; a place she loved. Josie worked as a secretary in NYC for over 30 years and had a gift for writing shorthand. Seven years ago, Josie moved from Brooklyn, NY to South Carolina to live with her son Joey and his wife Kimmie. She quickly adapted to her new home, where she made new friends and was surrounded by family who loved and cared for her. Josie was the daughter of the late Mercedes and Antonio Sanchez and the oldest of three children. She was very proud of her Spaniard descent and had an amazing sense of humor. 

Josie was preceded in death by her brothers Tony and Jackie, and nephew Anthony, whom she adored. She is survived by her children Tina, Joey, Anthony, and their spouses. She leaves ten grandchildren: Dominique, JoJo, Nicky, Lexi, Robert, Alexis, Brittany, Anthony, Danielle, and Nicky. She had a special bond with her granddaughter Alexis (Heather), who named their daughter after her.  She also leaves behind eighteen great-grandchildren: Khloe, JoJo, Nino, Paisley, Everleigh, Nicholas, Bella, Addilyn, Selah, James, Rosie, Josie, Hunter, Arielle, Hayden, Noelle, Nikolai, Nadia. Family and her many longtime friends loved her. Josie will be forever missed by all who know her.

As per her wishes, a private memorial will be held by the family.
