Joseph Lynn Haire Sr.

Joseph Lynn Haire Sr. passed away January 28, 2022.
The middle son of the late James Howard and Ruby Monroe Haire was born August 5, 1942 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He is predeceased by brothers Charles and James. He served in the Tennessee National Guard from 1963-1975. He was a retired Piping Designer and draftsman, and he designed and built his own house in 1973.
Joe moved to Greenville, SC on March 1, 1966 to work for McPherson and Company, where he met, then later married, the late Jane Stewart Phillips, literally the first woman he met in Greenville. Together, they had seven children: Janet, Charlotte, Ben, Joey (Cristy), Chuck (Serena), James, and Stewart. Grandchildren include Christine (Michael), Sabrina, Shyanne, Joey, Callie, Levi, Kyleigh, Jacob, and Nick; great grandchildren: Wyatt, Nathaniel, Carson, Aurora, Waylon, Deacon and Winnie.
Joe enjoyed working on his classic Cadillacs and entertaining his kids with funny family history and movie quotes. He liked a wide range of rock musicians, but his favorites were The Ventures, Roy Orbison and Elvis.
Memorial Service will at 2 pm Saturday, February 5, at Augusta Road United Methodist Church, at 8324 Augusta Road in Pelzer. Family will receive friends at the church Fellowship Hall after the service.
