Joseph Murphy Gault, Jr., 73, of Simpsonville, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 in Greenville. Born in Greenville, South Carolina on May 14, 1945 to his parents, Murphy Gault, Sr. and Katherine (Ballard) Gault, he graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1963 and then went on to work as a machinist and welder in the fabrication industry. Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, he enjoyed watching football, wrestling and nascar racing.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Jerry “ Nanny “ Gault; his sister, Joyce Finley and his grandson, Brett Brown. Those who will most cherish his memory are his daughters, Rhonda Davis and her husband, Charlie of Simpsonville, Lisa Gault and her husband, Chris Bridges of Simpsonville and Cristy Fonville and her fiancé, Dan Foley of Fountain Inn; his sister, Judy Balmer of Fountain Inn; his grandchildren, Kyle and wife, Jessica, Stephen, Hope, Cody, Kirstie and Nastassia and his three great grandchildren, Lucas, Olivia and Landon.
A gathering of the family and friends will be from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Monday, June 4, 2018 with a Celebration of Life at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Road in Greenville.
