He was raised in Martin, Tennessee, moved to Greenville, SC in 1980 where he met Terri Marie Brissey. They married on September 20, 1981, they had one son Daniel Ford Moubray. He was a beloved husband to Terri for 42yrs. A devoted father to his son Daniel Ford and wife Dawn. A cherished grandfather to Brayden Ford, Makaylyn Elaine, Austin Ford, Kristian Michael Moubray, William Ashton Dunn, Amber Cheree and Elijah Austin Riggs, A great grandfather to Kolton Ford Moubray . He was a loving brother to Brent. A supportive brother in law to Joyce Len Campbell and Lisa Jane Allison. He was a loving uncle to (like his own sons) Justin and Aliya and Jason and Kelley Campbell and Thomas Allison and Brandon Worrell and nieces Brittany Hagar, Miranda Allison, Sierra, Savannah and Lola Campbell.
Jonnie’s warmth and generosity extended to his close friends including Keith Kellett (like his brother) and family, Chris Rookstool and Family, Keith Cooley, Tipp Forrester, Jimmy Smith and Robbie Campbell all of whom miss him dearly.
Jonnie was the original “Good Ole Country Boy with a Mountain man soul”. That would help anyone in need and give you the shirt off his back. He was known for his strong work ethic and resilience. He channeled these traits into owning his own business early in life. He was a vinyl siding and windows man in construction. His hands built more than structures, they built a legacy of integrity and quality that will stand the test of time. The words to best describe Jonnie are generous, helpful selfless and daring. He lived his life in service of others whether it was through his meticulous workmanship, his unwavering support of his family and friends, or acts of kindness to strangers. His love of horses and roosters and children.
As we say goodbye to Jonnie, we celebrate a life of love for his family, cherishing his grandkids, living life on the edge, he was a risk taker, he was not afraid of anything.
His memory will be kept alive and cherished in the stories shared by those that had the privilege of knowing him. Jonnie’s journey on earth has come to an end, but his influence and memory will continue to be felt by all the lives he touched. He would want us to celebrate his life, not mourn his death.
