Jonathan Daniel Hipps (“Dan”) passed away on July 14, 2020. He was the son of Mildred and John Hipps. He is survived by three daughters, Aimee Perry (Jeff), Elizabeth Walker (Ben), and Suzanne Massey (Mark), nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Lauren Simms (Patrick), Jonathan Perry (Haley), Caitlin Walker, Haley Perry, Tyler Perry, Ethan Perry, Jillian Walker, Evan Massey, Ella Jane Massey, Catherine Simms, and Anna Claire Simms. Also surviving Dan is his sister, Angie Smith, a niece Christy Burnette (Shane), two nephews Jeremy Smith (Lana) and Kevin Smith, two grand nephews Jack Smith and Wesley Burnette, and two grand nieces Ava Smith and Caroline Burnette.
Dan Hipps was an Air Force veteran, medical transcriptionist, handyman, correctional officer, husband, father, grandfather, and loyal, generous friend. He loved his wife, cared for her compassionately and loyally through her illness and resultant death from dementia, and fought bravely himself through several severe illnesses.
Dan is already greatly missed by his family and is safely in Heaven with his wife Carson. Thank you, Daddy, for your silly sense of humor, your love for your family, and your strong work ethic that provided so well for us. We will see you soon!
