Johnny Herman Pace (77) of Travelers Rest passed on March 16th, 2018 after a recent decline in health. He was the son of the late, Ollie May Russell Pace and John Luther Pace. Johnny was the youngest of their 6 children. He was born and raised near the Saluda Watershed in Northern Greenville County.
In his retirement, Johnny loved to stay busy by delivering new cars for Crown Nissan of Greenville. He leaves behind his wife, Carol Ruth Evatt Pace of 54 years. He was the father of two daughters, Sheila (Reuben) Black of Barnwell, SC and the late Shirley Pace of Travelers Rest, SC and one son, Luther Pace (David Holt) of Orlando, FL. He was especially happy when surrounded by his grandchildren, Aaron (Brittany) Campbell of Pickens, SC, Olivia Grace Campbell, Andrew Campbell and Caleb Campbell of Travelers Rest, SC and R.C. (Jessica) Black of Fountain Inn, SC. He was the favorite uncle to several generations of nieces and nephews.
Those who knew Johnny will miss his warm personality and precious smile. He truly cared for others more than he did for himself. He sat for endless hours with family and friends during their trials, offering them his shoulder to cry on and a listening ear. He loved the Lord and wanted to share God’s love with everyone he met.
The family is at the home in Travelers Rest. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 1:45pm at Foothills Baptist Church, 1204 Hwy 25 North, Travelers Rest, SC. Memorial Service will follow at 3:00pm.
