John Steven Woodall, affectionately known as John or Johnny to his friends and family, passed away at his home in Greenville, SC, on August 1, 2024. Born on March 2, 1951, in the same city where he would eventually say his goodbyes, John's life was a testament to the enduring spirit of a man who valued courage, love, and thoughtfulness above all else.

John's early years were shaped by the loving guidance of his parents, Edna Louise Woodall and Loyd Woodall, both of whom predeceased him. He was a devoted brother to his late sister, Jacqui Woodall Johnson, and his life was further enriched by the joy of his daughter, Reni Lynn Woodall Cooley (Kevin), and his grandchildren, Alexis Taylor Bannister Quintana (Zack), Emmali Sophia Cooley, Olivia Annaston Cooley, and Mason Layne Cooley. For the last 19 1/2 years, John found companionship and care in the presence of his partner and caregiver, Roslyn Stoddard, who stood by him with unwavering support.

John's professional life was marked by his charismatic personality and his knack for connecting with people, traits that served him well in his career as a car salesman. His work was more than a job; it was an opportunity to meet and help others, leaving a lasting impression on countless individuals throughout his career. John's dedication to service was also evident in his time with the US Army.

Beyond his professional and military life, John was known for his passion for music and dancing. His love for rhythm and melody was infectious, and he could often be found on the dance floor, sharing his joy with everyone around him. His enthusiasm for life was a beacon that drew people to him, and his presence was a source of warmth and happiness.

John's legacy is one of courage, love, and thoughtfulness—a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His unwavering positivity, even in the face of life's challenges, inspired all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. John Steven Woodall will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will forever be cherished by his beloved family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
