John Anthony Petrone, 47, of Startex, SC passed away on March 7, 2019 in Startex, SC after a tragic accident at his home. Born November 8, 1971 in Chicago, IL to Jerry W. and Linda I. (Cummings) Petrone, John grew up in Chicago with his brother Gerard W. Petrone, and sister Gina L. Petrone.
After his family moved to Delavan, WI in 1981 John attended Delavan-Darien and Bigfoot High Schools. He later attended college at Madison School of Electronics in Madison, WI and joined his brother, Jerry, for a summer in Gils Rock, Door County, WI in where they both lived and worked.
In 2005 John joined his sister, Gina and nephew Keith in South Carolina and established a life there. He again attended college at Greenville Technical College where he graduated from the Mechatronics program.
John worked many jobs in Wisconsin and South Carolina, most recently for Sealed Air Corporation and also founded his own HVAC business. His hobbies included fixing up cars, customizing computers, playing video games, posting on social media, loving his dogs (PeeGee, Hopey and Dahlia) and helping others.
John is survived by: Siblings Gerard, Gina, and Marcia Petrone, Stepmother Diane Roeker (Petrone), Aunt Florence Cano, Uncle John Cummings, Aunt Anita Cummings, Aunt Marge Cummings, Aunt Corrine Rohr, Nephew SPC Keith E. Knechtel (USARMY) and many cousins and other relatives and friends, too numerous to list as well as his three dogs, Pee Gee, Hopey, and Dahlia.
John is predeceased by his Mother Linda I. Cummings (Petrone), Father Jerry W. Petrone, Grandparents Jerry S. and Clara Petrone, Wilbur (Bud) and Rose Cummings, Uncle Bill Rohr, Uncle Joe Cano, Uncle Ralph Cummings, and Cousin-In-Law Jim Kopka, as well as pets Blacky (Black Jack) (RIP), Otis the Fish (RIP).
John gave his heart to Christ and lived out his faith in his daily walk. He was a true servant of all as described in Mark Chapter 9. He was brutally honest, intelligent, and quick witted. John was a friend/family member who could be counted on as many have testified and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Rest easy John, your dogs are safe.
Visitation will be held at Westville Funeral Home 6010 White Horse Road Greenville, South Carolina on Friday April 5th from 6pm to 8pm followed by a funeral service at Westville Funeral Home on Saturday April 6th at 10:30am. There will be an interment following the funeral service at Mountain View Memorial Park 7 Duncan Road Travelers Rest, South Carolina 29690.
