John Patrick McCleary

Greenville, SC - John Patrick McCleary was born on April 25, 1948, in Millinocket, and died in Greenville, SC, Feb. 3, 2025, of sepsis.

He graduated from Stearns High School in 1967, then enlisted in the USAF and was deployed to Thailand for a year during the Vietnam War era. He worked as an OTR truck driver for many years.

He was predeceased by his parents, John Sr. and Gerry (Gallant) McCleary. He is survived by four children, Angela, Jeffrey, Daniel John "DJ," and Patrick; four grandchildren; siblings, Jamie and Kathy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

John loved the ocean, especially Acadia National Park. His family will have a private memorial near the Trenton Bridge, one of his favorite spots near the coast.
