John Garth Knight, known affectionately as Garth to his friends and family, passed away peacefully in his hometown of Greenville, SC, on July 1, 2024, at the age of 59. Born on March 17, 1965, in the same compassionate city, Garth's life was one marked by warmth, dedication, and a deep passion for the simple joys in life.

Garth was the beloved stepson of Michael Lynn Knight and his wife Charlene, of Fountain Inn. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Travis Knight. Garth's loving presence will be profoundly missed by his devoted girlfriend, Betty Ford of Travelers Rest, who stood by him with unwavering support and shared in his love for life's many adventures.

Garth chose a path that would enable him to work outdoors, embracing the beauty of nature that he so loved. He worked diligently for Donny Williams and Steve Ford as a landscaper, pouring his passion into every project he touched. Garth also spent time serving the community at the KFC on Wade Hampton Blvd, where his friendly demeanor and loving nature were a beacon of light to both customers and colleagues alike.

Garth's interests were a reflection of his appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He found joy in the camaraderie and excitement of playing bingo on White Horse Road. His love for short day trips was evident as he frequently ventured to the mountains and the beach, reveling in the serenity and majesty of the natural world. An animal lover at heart, Garth had a special fondness for cats, whose companionship brought him immeasurable comfort and happiness.

Those who knew Garth would describe him as a loving, friendly, and passionate individual. He approached life with a kind heart and an open mind, always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand. His ability to connect with others and his unwavering friendliness left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Garth's journey through life was one of genuine connection and heartfelt engagement with the world around him. His legacy is one of love, kindness, and the passionate pursuit of the things that brought him the most joy. He will be remembered for the light he brought into the lives of others and the gentle, loving spirit that defined him.

As we bid farewell to Garth, we take solace in the memories we shared and the knowledge that his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. Garth's life was a testament to the beauty of embracing each day with passion and a friendly smile. He will be deeply missed, but the love he gave so freely will endure in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his radiant soul.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Garth's presence may have left this earth, but the essence of who he was will forever remain an indelible part of the tapestry of our lives. Rest in peace, Garth; your memory will be cherished eternally.
