John “Johnny” Henry Cape, 75, of Pelzer, SC, passed away Thursday, December 17th, 2020 at AnMed Health. He was born on Friday, June 1st, 1945, in Fountain Inn, SC to his parents, the late Albert and Iomie Cape.
Johnny was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy Construction Battalion most commonly known as the “Navy Seabees” “Construimus, Batuimus” for “We build, We fight,” “Can Do.”
Johnny loved his family, being outdoors, going on vacations, and running heavy equipment. He had his own business: Cape Grading and Land Clearing, operated out of Pelzer, SC.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 40 years, Connie Cape of Pelzer, SC ; his daughters, Missy (Melissa) Cape Jump and daughter- in-law Deborah Pressly of Pelzer, SC, Mildred (Millie) Cape Henry and son-in-law Frank Henry of Central, SC and Cheryl Guzman of Timmonsville, SC; his grandchildren, Nicole Rollins of Greer and Scott Jump of Mooresville,NC; his great grandchildren: Nathan Isom lll, Madison Isom, John Isom, Paul Rojas, Catherine Isom, Kason Jump, Clayton Jump, and Kenzie Jump. Also surviving are his four brothers and his three sisters. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first born daughter, Shannon Renea Cape and an older brother.
The family will be at the home of Johnny Cape 101 Brookview Circle Pelzer, SC 29669.
A Memorial Service will be at the Cremation Society of SC-Westville Funerals Chapel at 4:00 PM on December 28th. Face Masks are required.
