Jock was born and raised in Miami, Florida by his parents Dr. Howard Keay Edwards and Leola Peters Edwards. He has one brother, Keay Edwards. After High School he enlisted in the Army and worked in the Army Security Agency. During that time he married his high school sweetheart, Margie Karlson. After 3 years in the Army, he attended the University of Miami to earn his BS in Electrical Engineering. Later he passed the exam to become a Professional Engineer. He worked as an Electrical Engineer in Florida, Alabama and South Carolina. In Greenville, SC he worked for Fluor for 33 years, until retirement. While in Alabama he took a year off from his career and attended Florida Bible College in Hollywood, Florida. The whole family went with him and all had an amazing adventure. His focus after that was on sharing the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ along with making a living. He was a “jack of all trades”. He fixed anything that needed fixin’. He was teased about all the weird things he kept in his garage, but if you needed him to fix something for you, he usually had a part. He helped a church start in our home in Alabama. He was always ready to help people, especially singles.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marjorie Karlson Edwards; a son, John, Jr. (Joanne) children Jeremy and Jannelle; daughter Annette (Dale Hardy) and sons Ben, Grayson and Will; daughter Suzanne (Russ Kelly) children Hunter, Summer, Savannah and Boone; and sweet Amy whose life was totally changed as a result of a very serious accident at the age of 21.

He would like to ask you, “Do you know where you will spend eternity when you die?” You can know that today by trusting Jesus as your Savior from sin. Jesus came to be the acceptable payment for the sin of all of us. He tells us to trust and believe in him to have eternal life. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” You can have that gift of eternal life today by accepting that free gift.
