John “Jack” Francis Winter of Easley, SC died in his home Tuesday, November 12, 2019. He was born in Cleveland, OH to Leland and Eileen Winter on June 19, 1940.
Jack was retired from the Air Force after 20 years as a MSGT, specializing in grounds maintenance and training supervision. While in the Air Force he and his family traveled to New York, Delaware, Alaska, Thailand, North Dakota, Germany, Mississippi, ending in South Carolina. After the Air Force, he worked with KIC Janitorial Services in Greenville, SC for 20 years.
Jack was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Boy Scouts of America. He was an active and passionate member of First Christian Church of Greenville, SC. He spent much of his adult life in dedication to the church and its members, all of whom he loved and considered family.
Preceding his death are his parents Leland and Eileen Winter, his brother Alan Winter and his wife Beverly Winter. Surviving family are his daughter Annette (Steven) Mason of Easley, SC; and his son Stephen (Leslie) Winter of Greer, SC. Surviving grandchildren are Amanda Mason of Easley, SC; Christopher (Lauren) Winter of Livermore, CA; Alyssa (Matthew) McClelland of Taylors, SC; Megan (Sean) Friend of San Jose, CA; Jonathan Winter, HM2 of Key West, FL; Alexander Mason of Orlando, FL; and Reid Winter of Greer, SC. Surviving great-grandchildren are Gabriella Ferguson and Rosalie Ferguson, both of Easley, SC; and John “Jack” McClelland and Eleanor McClelland, both of Taylors, SC.
Jack left a beautiful mark on the world and on the hearts of the people who knew and loved him.
The funeral service will be held 1 PM Monday, November 18, 2019 at First Christian Church of Greenville, SC. Burial will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park.
