John Robert Ingram

John Robert Ingram, age 79 of Greer, SC, passed away on May 8 th 2023 peacefully in his sleep
after a long battle with Cancer.

John was born on October 19th 1943 in Denver, CO and at 9 days old was adopted by his loving
parents Robert and Lucille Ingram. After graduating from his home town Fowler High School,
John attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, majoring in Chemistry. After graduating
with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, John married his high school sweetheart Sheryl Ann
Archer. Together they moved to Chicago, IL where he started his 34 year career in Consumer
Coatings Technology. John and Sheryl went on to have 3 children Bob, Julie and Kirk. After
retiring from the coatings field, John enjoyed spending time with his 7 grand children Jon, Jessi,
Jacqui, Molly, Tucker, Ryan and Elizabeth. Jon, as a child, started calling John “Buddy,” to which
he was ever after called. Buddy then began his second career at Home Depot and subsequently
moved to Greer, SC. It is here where he developed close friendships with his fellow associates
at the Woodruff Road location where he worked until he was called home by his Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ.

Buddy is predeceased by his parents Robert and Lucille. He is survived by his beloved Wife
Sheryl, his children Bob, Julie and Kirk, grand children Ryan, Elizabeth, Jon, Jessi, Jacqui, Molly
and Tucker. Great grandchildren Logan and Julia.
