John Churchill Heard

John Churchill Heard, 77, of Easley, South Carolina passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at his home. Born on August 19, 1940 in Easley, South Carolina to his parents, William “ Dub “ Heard and Frances (Blessingame) Heard, he was a lifelong resident of the upstate and he worked as a brick mason in the swimming pool industry.

John is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Wallace Heard; his sisters, Sarah Glover and Virgie Heard. Those who will treasure his memory are his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann (Gantt) Heard of Easley, South Carolina; his daughters, Brenda Hatton (Bradley) of Easley and Elaine Jones of Greenville; his brothers, Thomas Heard, William Heard, both of Decatur, GA and George Heard of Charleston, SC; his sisters, Florence Austin of Easley, SC, Emily Deas of Columbia, SC and Joyce McFadden of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, William Heard; granddaughter, Iesha Coker; his great grandchildren, Makayla Boughman, Cobey Brunson, Alijah Williams and John Heard.

Services to remember and honor John’s life will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday, February 23, 2018 in the Chapel of Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29611. A gathering of John’s family and friends will be from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P. M. Just prior to the service.
