John Robert Grimes, age 62 of West Union, SC passed on to Heaven peacefully at home Sunday, December 22, 2013. He was born in 1951 in Lynchburg, VA to the late Carl and Sylvia Grimes. He attended Melbourne High School and Brevard Community College in Florida. He was a U.S. Army Veteran (Korea). He married Linda Leopard Grimes in 1976 in Walhalla, SC. He worked in Security at Duke Energy for 35 years, was a musician and coach. He was a member of Rocky Knoll Baptist Church in Walhalla, SC.  He is survived by his wife Linda Leopard Grimes, two daughters Brandy Bunton of Columbia, SC and Beth Bottoms of West Union, SC, sons-in-law Bert Bunton and Ben Bottoms, grandchildren Bailey and Laney Bottoms and Enzy and Eston Bunton, siblings Don Grimes of Seneca, SC, Rose Grimes and Charlie Grimes of Indialantic, FL, and his father and mother-in-law Charlie and Marzelle Leopard of Walhalla, SC. The service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 2:00pm at Rocky Knoll Baptist Church in Walhalla, SC.
