Born on August 17, 1937, in Birmingham, AL, to the late John Ray Casady and Lena Pearl Porter-Casady, John was a man of many talents and interests who left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

John was a proud graduate of Desoto High School in Arcadia, FL. His love for mechanics and racing led him to a fulfilling career as a mechanic and race car driver. Not only did he excel in his profession, but he also found joy in building race cars from scratch. His passion for his work was evident in the quality of his craftsmanship and the dedication he showed towards his craft.

John was a man of many interests, but nothing brought him more joy than his family. He was a loving father to his four children, John Ray Casady Jr., James Edwin Casady, Michael Wayne Casady, and Elizabeth Louise (Joseph) Casady. He was a doting grandfather and great-grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his grand and great-grandchildren. His love for his family was profound and unwavering, and he often expressed that they were his greatest achievement.

Besides his family, John had a deep love for gardening, fishing, racing, and football. He had a green thumb and took great pride in his garden.
