John Thomas Carlton

John Thomas Carlton, 91, passed away June 1, 2015.  Born in Simpsonville, SC on May 7, 1924.  He served in the Navy and was Chief Ship Cook, Second class.  He retired from his own business, J. T. Carlton Painting and Decorating.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Etta Alexander Carlton; father, Benjamin Carlton Sr.; brothers, Ben Carlton, Jr., Herbert E. Carlton, Terry Carlton Sr., Franklin Delano, Roosvelt Carlton; sister, Patricia Carlton DeNapolis.  He left behind one daughter, Joan Elizabeth Carlton Blakely; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; brothers, Larry James Carlton, Lonnie Carlton; sisters, Etta Maye Carlton Kennemore and Joyce Ann Carlton Rice; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at CSSC-Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Rd., Greenville, SC 29611.  Visitation will be from 6 - 7:30 PM, Thur., June 4. The funeral will be at 1 PM, Fri., June 5; with the burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery West.
