Joel Smith

Joel Smith was affectionately known as Joey, Joe Joe, Pops, Papa, and Daddy. He was a man with a hard head and a big heart. Joey could make you smile, laugh, and cry. He could get on your everlasting nerves but he would grow on you, so loving him was inevitable. Joey had flaws as we all do but he was forgiven, by accepting Jesus Christ later in his life. He was born to the late Francis McAlister on May 3, 1962. Joey was called home to be with the Lord on October 24, 2022, surrounded by family. He met the love of his life and married the late Melissa Smith. Joey was preceded in death by his siblings: Charles, Junior, Ruth, and Lora. He is survived by two sons Joel Blake Smith and Joshua Kori Smith; daughter in law Lauren Elizabeth Smith; grandkids: Makayla Shyanne Morgan, Joshua Isaiah Morgan, and Dawson Maverick Smith Morgan, step-father Adger McAlister; siblings: Diane Smith, Ricky Smith, Susie Davis, Elaine Burdette, Fred Hayes, and Mickey Robinson; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
We could never forget someone who has made an impact on us like he did. We all are gonna miss him very much. Until we meet again.
