Joe Crayton Marett Jr., 76, died on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Kempton Assisted Living Facility in Greenville, SC.
Mr. Marett was born on September 4, 1945, in Greenville, SC, and graduated from Liberty High School. After high school, he played football at Chowan College. After graduation, Mr. Marett worked in the textile industry where he specialized in Human Resources and Training. In addition to working in human resources, Mr. Marett served twenty-two years in the Army and Army Reserves. In his spare time, he thoroughly enjoyed reading and sports. As an avid sports fan, Mr. Marett had a deep love for football and was a devoted Clemson University football fan.
Mr. Marett was predeceased by his parents Eulalia Hiott Marett and Joe Marett Sr. He is survived by his son, Joe Crayton Marett III (Jay) of Greenville; along with his wife, Molly Marett; one granddaughter, Caroline Marett; sisters Judith Marett of The Woodlands Texas, Diane Shoaf of Winston-Salem, NC, and numerous cousins.
No flowers are necessary, but donations to Clemson University Athletics are appreciated. A private ceremony will be held by the family.
