oan V. Smith passed away peacefully on July 23, 2023, in Cross Hill, South Carolina. Born on April 29, 1947.

Predeceased by her beloved husband William C. Smith JR, Parents Grady (Pete) Vaughn, Mattie A Vaughn, and her brother Larry Alvin Vaughn.

Joan was an adored mother to Jimmy Lee Smith (Jerri) of Fountain Inn, SC
and a stepson to Toni Smith of Gaffney, SC.

Favored by a God Daughter Alexis Jackson(Dj) of Reidville, SC who was raised in the home.
She was a loving sister to Nancy Manning (Dwayne) of Taylors, SC.

Followed by her grandchildren, Owen, Grady & Hoyt Jackson. Her Granddaughter, Maddy Moody, and her Great Great Grandchild Luna Gambrell.

Joan was also a special aunt to Rita Vaughn of Greer, SC. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she was the heart of theirs.

Joan spent over a decade with Harper Brothers and Staple Office Supplies, where she brought her unique blend of warmth, dedication, and professionalism.

Joan's interests were hosting her grandchildren and family at the lake alongside smaller hobbies such as crafting and sewing.

Joan had a welcoming heart for everyone that made lasting impressions. She taught us all to embrace life, no matter how it comes. Her gentle and kind spirit will be greatly missed. She was a guiding light, a source of inspiration, and a beacon of love and kindness. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her
