With deep love and heavy hearts, we share the passing of Jimmy Lee Autrey, known to many as "Wally", on March 24, 2025.
Jimmy was a man of grit, humor, and heart. He had a fire in his spirit and a sharp wit that made him the kind of person you never want to forget. His storytelling could hold a room and whether hearing the tale for the first time or the fifth time, you knew you were in for a treat. His sense of humor always left everyone laughing and smiling in the best way.
At the center of his world was the love of his life, Linda. Their marriage was a beautiful example of true partnership, lasting 58 amazing years. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, fun, and adventure. They shared a love of travel, which they did every chance they got. They created countless memories with their family on beach vacations where Wally could be found riding the golf cart, blasting his favorite music and enjoying each moment.
He was the definition of strength. He faced every season of life- including his most recent health challenges - with resilience and that same stubborn determination that defined his spirit. Even in his toughest moments, he never lost his spark or his love for those closest to him.
He had a passion for hot rods and all things racing- anything fast and loud! It's just who he was. He lived with a zest for life that couldn't be slowed down.
Wally was a devoted husband, father, and proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife Linda, his daughters Gina Renee and Jennifer, Grandchildren Jacob, Lauren, Jordan (wife Savannah), Jared and great grandchildren Elijah, Isla, and Sophia.
His legacy will live on in the roar of an engine, the sounds of music on a breezy beach day, and the stories that will be told for generations. He will be missed beyond words, but his spirit will never fade.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you hold those you love close, live life to the fullest, and in the words of Wally... "get er done."
