Jessica Lynn Dowis

Jessica Lynn Dowis, known affectionately as Jessica to her friends and family, passed away on March 10, 2025, in Anderson, South Carolina. Born on December 17, 1991, in Lincolnton, North Carolina, Jessica's vibrant spirit and loving nature left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

Jessica's life was a testament to her courage and spirited personality. She was a cherished daughter to Lynn Hazelwood and James Tharp, a beloved sister to Victoria, Elizabeth, Veronica, and James Tharp I, and a stepdaughter to Dale Hazelwood. Her role as a mother to Elynor Rose Dowis and Jacob Lamontagne was where Jessica shone the brightest, pouring her love and energy into their lives. Though her marriage to Brian Dowis concluded, they continued to co-parent with mutual respect and dedication to their children.

Jessica's academic achievements were notable; she was an active member of the Beta Club and served as secretary of her class. Her passion for the medical field led her to pursue a career as a surgical tech, a journey that was tragically cut short. Jessica's work at Prisma was more than a job; it was a calling. She thrived when working alongside her medical team members, and her commitment to her profession was evident in the care she provided.

Family was the cornerstone of Jessica's life. She relished in "doing mommy things," whether it was playing a competitive game of Monopoly or simply spending quality time with her loved ones. Her children, Elynor and Jacob, were the light of her life, and she embraced every moment with them.

Jessica's legacy extends beyond her immediate family to her nephew Kaleb Lamontagne and nieces Amberlynn and Lorraine Lamontagne. Her nurturing presence and guidance were gifts that they will carry with them always.
