Jesse Lee Guss

November 26, 1974 — September 7, 2018

Jesse Lee Guss, 43, of Easley, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. Born in New Jersey, Jesse moved to South Carolina in his teens. He was a 1994 graduate of Travelers Rest High School. Jesse was a technician at Sage Automotive, formerly Gayley Mill, for 20+ years.

Jesse was the son of Karen Young, of Middlesex, NJ, and Joseph Guss, of Marietta, SC. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers: Joe Guss of Marietta, SC and Shawn (Katie) Young of Middlesex, NJ. He also leaves behind his niece, Reagan, of Middlesex, NJ; his girlfriend and step son, Gail Cox Edwards and Jarod Edwards, both of Easley; his best friend and DD, Adrian Styles, of Travelers Rest; and his beloved dog, Oreo.

Jesse will be remembered by his friends and family for his long hair, love of music and sports, his kind heart, and his sense of humor along with his fast talking and love of colorful language. He had an infectious laugh and always knew how to make everyone else laugh. Jesse enjoyed cooking and spending time with friends. He loved his Michigan Wolverines, NY Giants, and NY Yankees. He also quite enjoyed an ice cold Miller Lite at Quaker Steak and Lube, Twin Peaks, or Hooters.

Jesse was caring, honest, and a true friend who would give the shirt off of his back for a friend in need. He will truly be missed by many.

The family would like to thank the CCU nurses at Baptist Easley Hospital for their kindness and for the great care Jesse received.
