Jennie V. was 89 years’ young. She went to Heaven on November 25, 2016 after a very long illness. She was living in Taylors, SC with her son. She was an extraordinary strong lady. She was widowed to Willie B. Harrison. Jennie Vee Robinson was born in Union County, SC on March 10, 1927. She Married Willie B. Harrison September 04, 1964 in Spartanburg, SC where they resided. She is survived by a son Willie E. Harrison of Taylors, SC and a daughter Patty Jo Robinson Powell of Anderson, SC. Jennie Vee had several grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Jennie Vee Harrison, was born into a large family of 12 siblings. She had 9 brothers and 2 sisters. She was born Number 7 to her Mother Tennie Ilula Ruff of Cooper Gap Polk County, NC and Jennie Vee’s Father was Lawrence Robinson Sr. of Union, SC. She is survived by 3 siblings which include 2 brothers and 1 sister which gives her Too Numerous to Count Nephews and Nieces, and Great and Great, Great Nephews and Nieces.
Mrs. Harrison lived as a very conservative lady. She came from a farming family. Jennie Vee Robinson Harrison on her Mother’s side, The Ruff’s are direct descendants from The Native Cherokee Indian Tribe. As she got older she watched her brothers all 8 of them were still living (1 died approx. 6 months old) go off to war. Jennie Vee Robinson Harrison grew up in a family with a history of a strong military presence dating back to The American Revolution. During the wars, Mom, her Mother, Father and 2 sisters after working on the farm all day would sit by the candle light praying and waiting for word on the brothers because all 8 of them at one time where off to war together in different parts of the world. Some of them where even held at the harshest POW Camps.
Jennie Vee worked Textiles all her adult life where she met Dad, Willie B. Harrison. She spent 50 years in the Textiles mills finally retiring from Mayfair Mills. She was a Faithful member of Southside Baptist Church of Spartanburg, SC and attending almost 30 years. Prior to this she attended Westside and Arkwright Baptist Church. She was a Baptized Christian and received her cleansing around the time of her marriage in 1964 located in Pacolet Mills, SC. Her hobbies were sewing, embroidery and taking trips to the Mountains to see her Mom’s side of the family. Her presence is certainly missed.
