Jeanette Davis Merritt

Jeanette Davis Merritt, 97, daughter of the late Charles and Francis Davis, passed away on February 8, 2025. 

After 66 years of marriage, Jeanette was predeceased by her husband, J. D. Merritt; one son, J.D. Merritt, Jr; three sisters, Hazel Watson, Louise Pitts, and Charlene Williams. She is survived by her two sons, Richard (Eunice) Merritt of Easley, SC, and Charles (Hazel) Merritt of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Jeanette was a member of Easley First Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and had a life-long love of puzzle solving – words and pictures.

The family would like to thank everyone she considered friends and family at The Retreat of Easley (now VIVA) for loving her and taking such good care of her.
