Jean Carol Schoenberger

Jean Carol Schoenberger, daughter of the late Ross J. Davy and Doris Elizabeth Davy, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by her loving family on February 6, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard, her great-granddaughter Carli Joy, great-great granddaughter Amelia Grace and her fur baby, Nikki aka “Dogger”. Jean was the loving mother of Christine Simonini (Jack), Carmen Felix (Fred) and David Garcia; dearest sister of Nancy Camarena; devoted grandmother of 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Jean was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She lived there for the majority of her life and spent many happy years there raising her family. In 2001 she relocated to Tucson, AZ where she had many close girlfriends in her community of Sunflower. She also loved her church Light the Way and Pastor Moe. In 2017 Jean relocated to Greer, SC and found a new church family at Living Way Community Church and at the age of 85 was baptized by her Pastor, Chad Howard.

Jean lived life to the fullest. She was feisty, sometimes sassy and blunt. Jean treasured time spent with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling especially if it involved family. Some of her favorite destinations were Lake Tahoe (The Ridge), visiting family in California and Arizona, cruises and Harrah’s casinos at many different locales including Laughlin, NV, Lake Tahoe, NV, Maricopa, AZ, New Orleans, LA, Murphy, NC and Biloxi, MI. So many of these trips also included her 3 children to share in the fun! When she wasn’t traveling, she could be found cozying up with a good book. She loved to read especially mysteries, thrillers and love stories too. A few of her favorite authors were Diane Chamberlain, Danielle Steel and Kevin O’Brien. Jean was a lifelong San Francisco Giants fan. She even had a dedicated “Giants” Room with all of her baseball treasures. Jean enjoyed watching sports, in general, but especially baseball and football. Sports was a passion she passed on to her children.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Jean at Living Way Community Church on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 6:00pm.
