Born on May 21, 1942, in Fort Bliss, Texas, Jan lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to his family, service to his community, and a deep-rooted faith.

Jan's journey began as the son of the late Jan C. Ishoy Sr. and Dorothy D. Ishoy. He was a brother to the late Karen I. Johnson. His formative years were filled with the warmth of family and the pursuit of knowledge, culminating in a Bachelor of Science degree from Limestone College. Jan's passion for learning and helping others would become the cornerstone of his diverse and impactful career.

Throughout his life, Jan served in various capacities, each reflecting his commitment to community and excellence. As the Director of Environmental Services at St. Francis Women's Hospital, he ensured a safe and clean environment for patients and staff. His entrepreneurial spirit shone through as the self-employed business owner of Dynaclean. Jan's love for education and faith led him to serve as an assistant pastor at Calvary Baptist in Yucca Valley, California, and as a principal and teacher at Cavalry Christian School. His dedication to public service was further exemplified by his eight years as a volunteer firefighter and EMS in Yucca Valley and his twelve years in the Army National Guard Reserves. Most recently, Jan supervised computer support at QS1.

Jan's life was a testament to his faith-filled, wise, and generous spirit. He was a beacon of light in his church ministry, where he shared his deep faith and provided guidance to many. His love for the outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for fishing, camping, and gardening. Above all, Jan cherished family time, creating lasting memories with his loved ones.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his beloved wife of 57 years, Gwendolyn Ishoy, and their children: Jennifer Ishoy Blucas (Rick), Jami Ishoy Brothers, Allison Ishoy Williams (Kevin), Troy Fox (Holly), and James Schlimgen (Denise). Jan was a proud grandfather to Amanda, Andrew, Madison, Jaida, Kristianna, Anthony, Jessamine, Alanis, Brion, Caleb, Noah, Patelyn, Ethan, Christian, Jayden, Kolbe, Elijah, and Austin. His joy multiplied as he became a great-grandfather to Eli, Logan, Weston, Jaxon, and Paisleigh. He was also a foster parent to 7 kids over the years.

Jan's life was a beautiful mosaic of service, love, and wisdom. His presence enriched the lives of those around him, and his influence will continue to be felt through the generations.
