Janice Abell Arnold, age 92, of Greenville, SC formerly of Lunenburg, MA, went to be with her Savior on October 24, 2016.
A memorial will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 115 Cedar Lane Road, Greenville, SC. Pastor Mark Minnick will be officiating.
Visitation will precede the service from 12:30 – 1:40 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Internment will follow at the Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville,SC at 10:00 a.m.
Janice Arnold was born on February 3, 1924, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
Jan married Robert Whittle Arnold on October 5, 1946 at The First Baptist Church of Fitchburg, Massachusetts. She was a homemaker, worked for many years as a part time aide in a nursing home, taught in neighborhood Child Evangelism Bible classes, taught Sunday School at Highland Baptist Church in Lunenburg MA, worked with Pioneer Girls, and in the summers helped in the kitchen at Boy’s Brigade Camps. She also sang in her church choir in MA for many years and served as a foster parent for several years. Since 2000, she has been a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Greenville, SC.
She is survived by her husband of seventy years, Robert W. Arnold, Greenville, SC. She leaves four children and their spouses: Robert Bradley Arnold (Carol) of Lunenburg, MA, David Whittle Arnold (Karlene) of Kittery ME, Bruce Judson Arnold (Virginia) of Greenville, SC, and Deborah Christine Arnold Latham (John) of Mechanicsburg, PA
She leaves twelve grandchildren: Alicia Arnold Rattin (Isaac) of Southbridge, MA, Jonathan Arnold of Lunenburg, MA, Amelia Arnold Coburn (Mike) of Philadelphia, PA, Mark Arnold of Lunenburg MA, Scott Arnold (Shayna) of Harrisburg, PA, Elizabeth Arnold Daley (Daniel) of Harrisburg, PA, Nathan Arnold (Danielle) of Greenville, SC, Daniel Arnold (Jennifer) of Neunkirchen, German, Joel Arnold (Sarah) of Manila, Philippines, Samuel Arnold (Esther) of Greenville, SC, Matthew Latham of Mountain Home AFB, ID, and Micah Latham (Amanda) of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Janice also leaves 17 great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Hudson, Lydia, and Meredith Rattin; Hannah and Kayla Arnold; Joshua and Eli Daley; Caleb, Lucy, Phillip, and Silas Arnold; Jeremy, Zachary, and Caroline Arnold; Elias and Judah Latham.
She is survived by one sister, Judy Brown, in St Petersburg, Florida and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Evelyn Abell of Fitchburg, MA, a brother, Sidney Abell of Lunenburg, MA, and a sister, Christine Hodgman of St Petersburg, Florida.
