Janet Louise Richards, 69, of Savannah Lakes Village entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Hospice House. Mrs. Richards was the daughter of Lois Mary Morey and the late Robert Anthony Moray of Detroit, Michigan. She was a graduate of Cleveland Extension High School and she also took courses from Henry Ford Community College - Dearborn as well as Concordia College - Ann Arbor. She retired from the Detroit Public School System after 20 years of service. Here in South Carolina she worked four years at the McCormick Children’s Home, followed by ten years service running Jan’s Child Care. She was an active member of Greenwood Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, James Richards; her mother, Lois McConneha of Standish, MI; her son, Robert Strohl and wife, Carmen of Rochester Hills, MI; her step-daughters, Rebecca Menger and husband, Carl of Ferndale, MI and Rachel Miller of Las Vegas, NV; two step grandchildren, Natalie and Hailey. A memorial celebration was held on November 12, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Hickory Knob State Park. Rev. Larry Eckart and Rev. John Richter officiated for the religious portion of this special celebration of her life.
