Jane Merle Blankenship

Jane Merle Blankenship, affectionately known to all as Jane, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2023, at the age of 70, in her hometown of Pelzer, South Carolina. Born on January 30, 1953, in the same close-knit community, Jane's life was a testament to the values of love, family, and the joy found in simple pleasures.

Jane's journey through life was shared with her beloved husband, Dewey Blankenship, who, along with her step-daughter Christy Smith, provided her with enduring companionship and countless cherished memories. She was a sister to a remarkable family, including her brothers Larry Duncan and his wife Melvie, Wade Duncan, Sammy Duncan and his wife Gloria, Michael Duncan and his wife Anita, and her sisters Gail Fleming, Mary Garland, and Rachael Fitkin. Together, they wove a tapestry of familial love that was the backdrop of Jane's life.

Throughout her years, Jane dedicated herself to the roles of caregiver and homemaker, pouring her heart into the well-being of her family.
