Jamie Hames, lovingly known as Jamie to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on January 23, 1952, in Spartanburg, SC, Jamie was a man whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew him. He spent his last moments in Greer, SC, surrounded by the love and memories that he had built over a lifetime.
Jamie grew up in a lively household with his mother, Viola Durham, who predeceased him, and his brothers, Wilbur, Casey, and Thomas Hames, who survive him. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Jimmy and Vigil Hames. The bond he shared with his family was one of unconditional love and support, and he will be dearly missed by his siblings and all who had the privilege of being part of his life.
For many years, Jamie dedicated himself to his work as a Machine Operator. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in everything he did. Outside of work, Jamie had a passion for playing cards and softball, and he had a charming appreciation for lovely women. His interests brought joy not only to himself but also to his companions, who shared in these simple pleasures of life.
