James Edward Yockey passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2021, from cardiac arrest at the age of 91. He was born on December 15, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, to Helen Deneen Yockey and Edward Luther Yockey. He, a resident of Greenville, SC, since 1959, had been involved in many areas of sales and was the owner and CEO of Hose Plus, Inc. He was a long-time and very dynamic member of the Greenville Unitarian Universalist Fellowship where he had served as President of the Congregation three times, was active on many committees, and was on the Board of Trustees. During his early years in Greenville, he enjoyed working with the Jaycees, Zoo Commission, and Soap Box Derby program. Jim was married to the late Carol Cox Yockey. They had three children: Pamela Anne Yockey Stevenson, Keith Edward Yockey, and the late Christopher James Yockey. After Carol’s death, he married Veronica Piazza Yockey. They had one child, AnnaConchetta Yockey Ojaghi. Additionally, Jim is survived by one brother, Gregory Thomas Yockey, three grandchildren, Keri Lin Stevenson, Jon Carl Stevenson, and Suren James Ojaghi, and three great-grandchildren, Carter Stevenson, Moira Stevenson, and Della Myers. A private memorial service will be held at the Greenville Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at a time and date to be determined.
