James Edwin Willcox

James E. Willcox died on October 17, 2022, in Greenville, South Carolina.

He and Anne E. Berkemeier married in Piqua, Ohio in 1970, and Anne lives in Greenville, South
Carolina.  Jim is survived by four children and six grandchildren.  Children are Nathanial
(Jennifer) Willcox of Charleston, South Carolina; Dr. Emily (Gregory) Michaels of Greenville,
South Carolina; Thomas Willcox of Asheville, North Carolina; and John Willcox of Greenville,
South Carolina.  Grandchildren are Lillianne, Sophia, and Miriam Michaels; and Owen,
Katherine, and Mason Willcox.  He is also survived by his brother, Gregory (Ginger) Willcox of
Piqua, Ohio; and his brother-in-law (Edmund Stephan) of Piqua, Ohio.  He was preceded in
death by his sister, Barbara, his mother Ellen, and his father Leo.

Jim was born in 1947 in Piqua, and he graduated from Piqua Central High School in 1965 and
from Wittenberg University in 1969.  He retired from the Social Security Administration in 2002
after a 31-year career.  He enjoyed walking the Linear Park in Piqua and the Swamp Rabbit
Trail in South Carolina. His hobbies included reading, drawing pictures for his grandchildren,
and following sports.

Jim was thankful for the many wonderful people who enriched his life.  His cremains will be
interred at Forest Hills Cemetery in Piqua, Ohio.
