James E. “ Jimmy “ Watson, 53, of Greer, South Carolina, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at his residence. Born on September 3, 1962 in Newberry, South Carolina, he moved to Greer at the age of 7 and lived there for most of his life. Jimmy worked as a Bricklayer in the Construction Industry and he will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for his children and his grandchildren. Jimmy was also a huge fan of NASCAR and enjoyed watching the first race of this season.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, Herman Watson and his sisters, Vicki Watson and Brenda Watson. Those who will most cherish his memory are his daughter, Kimberly Wilson and her husband, Dewayne of Greer; his son, Jeffrey Watson of Taylors; his mother, Barbara Watson of Greer; his brothers, Timmy Watson and his wife, Karen of Union; and David Watson and Gary Watson of Greer; the mother of his children, Holly Farmer of Landrum; the special doses of sunshine in Jimmy’s life, his three grandchildren, Maddy Wray, James Wilson and Makayla Wilson all of Greer. Jimmy is also survived by numerous member of his extended family.
A Celebration and Time of Remembrance of Jimmy’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Calvary Christian Fellowship, 2455 Locust Hill Road, Taylors, South Carolina 29687.
