James (Jim) Talmadge Tanksley went to be with his Savior on February 7, 2024 where he joined Annette,
his loving wife of 61 years. Jim was born to Daisy Mae & James Newton Tanksley on July 21, 1931 in
Whitehall, GA.
Jim and Annette were married in 1951 and lived in Charleston, SC, where he served in the Charleston
Naval Hospital until 1954. Afterwards he worked at Roger Miliken, in textiles, where he was
instrumental in establishing standards for wool. Upon their closing, Jim was employed by SC Vocational
Rehabilitation Center (27 years) and found great joy in helping disabled people learn a trade.
Surviving Jim are his daughter, Sandy Cordell and her husband, Ron; two granddaughters, Jennifer
Osborn and her husband Jon, and Kayla Linder and her husband Daniel; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Annette, Jim was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Tanksley.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
