James Skupien, 67, of Greer, South Carolina, formerly of Romeoville, Illinois, passed from this life on Sunday, August 20, 2017 in Simpsonville, South Carolina. James was born on September 17, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois to his parents, George Skupien and Catherine (Kronohunas) Skupien, he had lived in South Carolina for the last 7 years. Mr. Skupien served his country proudly as a veteran of the United States Army and he worked in the construction industry as a carpenter. He loved fishing, playing with modeled trains and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be most remembered for his big heart and his sense of humor. While having the grandkids over, he would splash in the swimming pool and he very much enjoyed making memories.
James is preceded in death by his parents. Those who will most treasure his memory are his loving wife of 48 years, Janice M. (Mey) Skupien of Greer, South Carolina; his three daughters, Sandra Kelly (Russell) of Greer, South Carolina, Kimberly Skupien of Wellford, South Carolina and Lynn Skupien ( Mohamad Kassassir ) of Wellford, South Carolina; his grandsons, his pride and joy, James Robert, Dominic, Yosef and Adam.
A memorial service to remember and honor James’s life will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 1, 2017 in the Chapel of the Cremation Society of South Carolina - Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29611.
